Southwark DPPO evaluation |
Southwark Council introduced a near borough-wide DPPO (designated public places order, sometimes called alcohol control zones) in November 2006 after extensive consultation, to tackle public drinking and alcohol-related violence and disorder. The council has commissioned Ranzetta Consulting to carry out an evaluation of the DPPO's effectiveness, and intends to make the findings freely available to others considering implementing or evaluating their own DPPOs. James Morris, who recently evaluated the DPPO he set up in Hammersmith and Fulham, will lead the team.
