Alcohol and domestic violence |
|
The links between alcohol use and domestic violence are well known. A growing body of research points to serious gaps in interventions for victims of domestic violence who have substance misuse problems, and for perpetrators of domestic violence with substance misuse problems.
Our approach is to work with commissioners and specialist substance misuse agencies and domestic violence service providers to increase awareness and understanding of the 'other' issue, and to develop training, policies and protocols so that the gaps can be closed.
Through work with Drug and Alcohol Service for London (DASL), we have developed an evaluation framework for drug and alcohol services offering interventions for women experiencing domestic violence (see Publications). recent work>
